New for 2024 - Enjoy Santa progress updates on your Lock Screen, and track his journey live alongside real time aircraft.

It's that time of year, and we're bringing even more magic to your Santa tracking experience. In addition to our live map, you can now follow Santa's journey right from your Lock Screen with real time location updates.

With Live Activities, staying up to date is easier than ever. There's a countdown to Santa's takeoff, plus regular updates throughout Christmas Eve that link directly to his live position on the 2D or 3D map.

And if you prefer, just ask "Hey, Siri - Where's Santa in Plane Finder?" to go straight to his live position on the map. Or go all in and add the Find Santa Shortcut to your Action button or Home Screen.

Santa's sleigh will start broadcasting its live position on Christmas Eve morning until every last present is delivered.

Before Christmas Eve

Tap the Santa button on the map screen and tap Enable Santa Tracker to receive live activity updates on your Lock Screen.

On Christmas Eve

There are so many options to choose from for tracking Santa with Plane Finder.

Tap your live activity on your Lock Screen to jump straight to Santa's location on the live map (*iOS 18 only)
Type "Santa" into the search field
Check Explore > Trending Flights to see if he's the most popular tracked flight of the moment
Ask Siri "Where's Santa in Plane Finder"
Set up a Home Screen shortcut or customise your Action button to the Find Santa app intent
Tap the Santa button on the map screen to track and share his live location

Don't forget to share with your friends and family and look out for this year's new Santa jingle...

Can I disable the Santa button?

No sorry, but don't worry it will disappear on Christmas Day! In the meantime did you know you can hide all the UI from the map screen by tapping anywhere on the map without a plane or airport marker?
